Have you marked your calendars for the Red, White and Barbecue July 4th Celebration in Hartsville, Tennessee?
If not, why not?
Something this big, like America’s 250th anniversary, only comes around once and everyone is invited to join Hartsville and Trousdale County for a full day of fun activities in the downtown area to celebrate.
‘A Small Town. A BIG Celebration!’ will run from sunup to long past sundown with activities for everyone. Events for the day will include but probably are not limited to:
• A LIVE auction at the Hartsville Auction Barn LLC. Doors open at 7 a.m. and the sale begins at 8 a.m.
• A huge downtown vendor market.
• A children’s market showcasing local kid entrepreneurs.
• A full KID’S Zone of activities.
• An entertainment lineup featuring local favorites, including the TCHS Marching Band.
• A tractor show hosted by Miles and Katie Dillon.
• A rib cookoff and a banana pudding contest.
• A cornhole tournament.
• The annual 4th of July Community Parade with a SPLASH ZONE!
• An evening picnic in the park.
• Food and drink options throughout the day.
• Oh, and there will be giveaways from local businesses.
• Trousdale County sponsored FIREWORKS will conclude the event.
An event this large doesn’t just happen, it takes a team — a really big team!
Brittany Johnson, Executive Director of the Hartsville-Trousdale County Chamber of Commerce and her board of directors and other community leaders have been planning this celebration event but volunteers are needed for two-hour shifts in a variety of locations.
Volunteering is a great way to serve your community and to meet others that you might not have a chance to. Perhaps your club or organization would like to sponsor an activity and your members each take two-hour shifts to cover it. Jump on board and join in the fun of the day.
To learn more about the event, the event schedule or to register as a vendor, a volunteer, or a participant in events, check out the online registration form on the Hartsville-Trousdale County Chamber of Commerce Facebook page. While you are there, follow and share the page with your friends and family. If you aren’t on Facebook, you can contact Johnson at 615-406-3301.
