Last week, individuals exchanged Valentine cards, distributed boxes of candy, enjoyed candlelit dinners, and received floral arrangements. Some romantics wrote a poem expressing their love and passion. Any moment is a good time to share heartfelt expressions. Imagine if our lives are focused on giving love.
We should define our way of life by loving actions 鈥 a signature worth sharing and imitating for everyone鈥檚 benefit. Our signature style!
Drawing from extensive experience in a long and fulfilling marriage, it is evident that few aspects of life provide greater satisfaction. Material possessions, career achievements, financial success, and social recognition rarely offer comparable fulfillment. Honestly, I believe I have experienced the pinnacle of marital bliss.
The zenith of love are those moments when my wife selflessly pours into my life through giving of her precious time, special talents, and limited funds. True love comes at a price, but it鈥檚 paid willingly.
There is no mountain too high to climb, ocean too deep or wide to cross, or a pit filled with venomous snakes too dangerous to enter. Sacrifice is the gold standard of authentic love. It is the litmus test to distinguish between true and the fake. All forms of love require sacrifice. As a Christian, I strive to follow Jesus Christ鈥檚 example.
The perfect, sinless, and selfless epitome of sacrificial love. Without hesitation, Israel鈥檚 Messiah left the glory and splendor of heaven to come into the world to lay down His life as a sacrifice for our sin. No greater demonstration of love has ever been witnessed in history.
With that template of love set by Jesus, let us determine to show the world that we are His disciples. Choosing to live selflessly for others shape who we are. Consider how Christian love could transform a world often focused on individual interests 鈥 how it might influence our families, workplaces, and even government. Imagine the impact of Christlike love on our enemies.
Imagine Christlike love beginning in our churches. Indeed, a radical revolution would occur when Christians live a life that brings glory to their Lord. The world needs this example. Having a day to say 鈥淚 love you鈥 is appreciated.
Demonstrating benevolence, goodness, kindness, and selflessness on a daily basis is an effective way to exemplify these qualities.
Let us commit to embodying the principles of love in our conduct and interactions. Let it be our signature style.
Genuine Christianity, practiced fully, will move others. Let our love define and elevate our character. Wishing you a wonderful week 鈥 never forget, you are loved!
